Conglobata is a severe form, mainly a form in men and often remains long after their twentieth year. The infections occur much more severe. The shoulders, back and chest are generally worse affected than the face. Characteristic are the double comedones, large subcutaneous nodules and abscesses (pus-filled cavities), which eventually healed leaving behind unsightly scars.
This severe form is associated with the formation of unsightly and sometimes painful scars. Keloidalis usually occurs in response to Conglobata.
Ectopica (hidradenitis suppurativa).
This is a variant in unusual places, such as the armpits, groin and on the buttocks. It can be very serious. The recurrent infections and abscesses can give the patient much inconvenience. This form usually occurs after the age of 20, especially in smokers.
Some people, mostly young women, are so obsessed with the skin condition, that every pimple is scratched or squeezed. Thus, the inflammation worse and create scarring or pigmentation. By some, this form is seen as a kind of self-injury (self-harm).
This form occurs in women between 30 and 40 years. With this form people must be prepared for hormonal abnormalities and often the menstruation is erratic.
Blemished skin by mechanical causes
This is an anomaly and is caused by mechanical influences such as blemished skin under a chin strap or headband (helmet). Is also caused by contact with substances such as tar, oil, chlorine and cosmetics (mineral oils)
Blemished skin by medical drugs
This form can be derived from the use of steroids, iodine, bromine and lithium. Is characterized by bumps and pimple and closed blackheads.
Is a rare and severe form accompanied by an explosion of Conglobata with fever and general malaise.
Is a form occurs to infants and toddlers. The cheeks are then covered with blackheads and inflammation.
The word acne comes from Greek. It comes from the Ancient Greek "acme", that 'top' blossom 'or highlight means. That word not only shows that pimples and blemishes occurs as small mountain tops protruding above the skin, but also that the disease occurs primarily in people in the 'flowering' of their lives. In 1935, the word acne recorded as a new Latin medical term, taken from a misspelling of the word acme by a 6th-century author, Aetius ......
